How to make a sales tax invoice in Pakistan
Businesses registered for sales tax issue tax invoices that show the tax charged. A typical invoice carries your business name and address, your NTN and Sales Tax Registration Number (STRN), the buyer's details, a unique invoice number, the date, a description of each item, the quantity, the value excluding tax, the tax rate and amount, and the total.
This generator puts all of that in one clean PKR layout. Type your NTN and STRN together in the tax registration box in step 2, add your items, and the preview updates as you type.
GST and withholding tax on the same invoice
The preset rate is 18%, the standard federal sales tax rate on goods. The rate that applies to you depends on the item and on whether you supply goods or services. Sales tax on services is generally collected by the provinces and the rates differ, so edit the rate field to match your case.
Some buyers deduct tax at source when they pay you. Enter that percentage in the WHT field, then choose whether it applies to the taxable amount, the total including tax, or the tax amount only. The net payable line shows what you will actually receive.
Tips for freelancers and small businesses
Number your invoices in sequence, put your bank title and IBAN in the notes, and keep a PDF copy of every invoice. If you bill a foreign client, switch the currency to USD, GBP or EUR and set the tax rate to 0 where no tax applies to your supply.
Add your logo and pick a brand colour in step 4. The tool remembers your last invoice on this device, so the next one takes seconds.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this as an FBR invoice?
The tool lays out the details a tax invoice normally carries, but whether an invoice meets the rules depends on your registration and the requirements that apply to you, including any e-invoicing rules. Check with your accountant or the tax authority.
What sales tax rate is preset for Pakistan?
The preset is 18%, the standard federal rate on goods. You can change it to any rate, for example for services or a different province.
How does WHT work on this invoice?
Enter the WHT rate and choose what it applies to. The WHT amount is subtracted from the total to give the net payable amount.
Can I add my company logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG in step 4. It appears on the invoice and stays on your device.
Rates and rules change and depend on your business, so confirm the correct tax treatment with your accountant or tax authority. This tool is a calculator and layout helper, not tax advice.
